We were so happy staying with Swati and Sandeep. Their garden is so peaceful and beautiful. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy some time off, although I was able to get quite a lot of work done there. They and their staff took very good care of us. I loved waking up to the birds singing in the morning. There are a lot of sites to see in the area too... Robber's Cave is an incredible formation where you can walk through the river that has cut through the rock to form a deep canyon with the walls of the rock close on either side. There are temples to see and a monastery that we are sad that we missed, as well as the forestry center that is eye opening. It is definitely about an hours drive to Musoorie, so I would recommend combining your stay here with a few nights in Musoorie proper. We did go to Mussorie twice from Swati's but it is a long and very twisty road. Swati will also set you up with a local taxi driver named Sonu who lives a few doors down and who will take you to see all the sites and wait for you for a very reasonable price. Swati's daughter is also a joy to spend time with and my son and I enjoyed a day walking to the river with her and going to the zoo. The rooms were very clean and well appointed... and, the food was fantastic. We had one person in our party who was unable to eat food with any spiciness to it and Swati was able to communicate that to her cook and every day there was a separate dish for that person that he was very happy with. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to someone looking for a peaceful stay with wonderful people.
