We've hosted a total of five international students in the past (Italian, Czech, Chinese, Korean and Thai) and enjoyed learning about their cultures and language. We've travelled to Greece, Germany, Austria, the Caribbean and have put our travelling on hold as we now have two very young kids (a 3-yr old boy and a 1-yr old girl). We are a young couple (I'm a stay-at home mom and my husband is in the Navy) in our early thirties and have not much relatives in Halifax as they are all back in Toronto so we know what it's like to feel a little homesick.

The Homestay bedrooms (2) are located in the basement with its own private shower, living area and a small kitchenette. The price reflects the almost exclusive/private use of the entire basement floor (kind of like renting your very own apartment) but is open for negotiation with the right people.

The home is only 20 minutes from downtown Halifax by car and is a 5-minute walk to the bus stop.
